Veterinarian. Speaker. Biosafety Professional. Dr. Will Taylor, founder of the Maggie T Foundation, is an award-winning veterinarian who is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and dreams through mentorship and training.
Dr. Taylor is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and dreams through mentorship and training. His career as a veterinarian has allowed him to gain insight and experience in multiple disciplines including Biomedical/Biosafety Laboratory Animal Medicine, Public Health Medicine, Shelter Animal Medicine, Community Practice Medicine, and Spay/Neuter Medicine.
Dr. Taylor’s communication skills and people-first philosophy have afforded him the opportunity to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate change. He has been blessed to make lifelong friendships, mentor countless numbers of students, and have a meaningful career and not just a job.
Dr. Taylor prides himself on being self-motivated, flexible, passionate, confident, open-minded, creative, determined, and disciplined. These qualities have helped him evolve into a successful entrepreneur and leader.
He has spent the last several years utilizing his diverse background and experiences to meet the needs of a rapidly growing profession while traveling the world in search of beaches and sunsets.

I have been partnering with different organization that align with my goals for over 25 years.
I donate my time, talent, and connections through these organizations. Now I have created the Maggie T Foundation to focus on education, enrichment, and creating experiences for students of various disciplines.
As part of this project I am seeking strategic partners to discuss mental wellness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship within their field, and mentorship. How are these topics related?
Mental health and wellness will address realities like compassion fatigue and burnout in helping fields. Financial literacy is a necessity in any field of study that is rarely addressed in traditional universities when choosing your field of passion. We address these relevant topics at the Maggie T Foundation. Mentorship in any field will increase success. Does that mentorship include work-life balance? Opportunities outside your field? We approach Mentorship with a “360” lens. MTF mentors the whole person, through career changes, new passions, entrepreneurship and beyond.
Why I created the Maggie T Foundation
The MTF is my creation for the resource center that I myself needed and wish had been available to me early in my career.
Working with strategic partners, I want to teach about financial literacy. Veterinarians are grossly underpaid. I’ve used entrepreneurship of veterinary medicine to create wealth, but I had to learn financial literacy along the way.
I learned about the importance of mental health thanks to my experience with things like compassion fatigue and burnout - especially when I became aware of the sobering reality of suicide rates in my profession.
I’ve also taken different career paths in the field of veterinary medicine.
I’ve guest lectured at several conventions/conferences about my experiences working in private practice, shelter medicine, governmental agencies, laboratories, mobile spay/neuter clinics, and entrepreneurial endeavors.
My work has taken me to several countries. I’ve eaten local foods, tried local traditions, and seen and done things that fascinated me when I was a child. My goal when I am in any space is to add value; for example, by mentoring students and my colleagues, training staff and investigators, and volunteering on committees to improve employee relations and retention. I want to ensure other people are gaining from the experience as well.
My goal is to make an impact on those around me while creating some lasting memories along the way. I want to inspire people to follow their dreams, take chances, and do what makes them smile.
